You can use the ‘O bebe TALC’ in the early teaching of Midwives and Traditional Birth Attendants. You can use it in schools and community groups. Which may be particularly useful in societies where family members may take responsibility for delivery of babies.

Failure of a mother to deliver may, in some societies, still be blamed on supernatural or malign forces. In such circumstances, a simple method showing that the failure of the head to flex will cause delay in delivery. Therefore it may be useful in encouraging early transfer of the mother to hospital.

Available on four sides of A4 paper. Stick it onto cardboard and cut it out to give a two-dimensional model with which to illustrate the importance of the position of the baby’s head during birth.
